Joseph Whitman was born in Doylestown, Summit County, Ohio, June 7, 1857, and 
passed away at his home in Southwest Bloomer township November 3, 1935, being 
found dead in bed by his wife. He was the last of his family, his sister, Mrs. 
Manda Brillhart, and brothers John and Dougles Whitman having preceded him in 
death.

He came to Michigan when a small boy. Mr. Whitman was educated for a 
veterinary, having graduated from veterinary college in Detroit ad Toronto, 
Canada.

Mr. Whitman was married twice, his first wife being Rose King; who died. He was 
united in marriage to Janette May Burrows in 1926.

The funeral services were held at the A.E. Gunther funeral home in Carson city 
Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5, Rev. Lewis Herrick officiating. Interment was made 
in the family lot in the Palo cemetery.  Besides his widow he is survived by 
one son, Emanuel, and four grandchildren, Eva, Illora and Kenneth Whitman and 
Carl Longwell.

EAST BUSHNELL
Mr. and Mrs. Geo Hare attended the funeral services held for Joseph Whitman, 
Tuesday, at Carson City. Mr. Whitman was for many years a West Bloomer farmer 
and a veterinary with quite an extensive practice. He leaves the widow, one 
son, Manny, of Vickeryville and several grandchildren. Burial was at Palo
