Additional Comments: Note that there was a publishing error in the last paragraph. Lines from another story were inserted into the obituary. The text has been transcribed just as it appeared in the newspaper. According to John Pickel's wife, Grace (Hager) Pickel Christiansen, the surviving brothers should have been listed as: Plin J., Russell, James, Ernest, and Donald. The other survivors are listed correctly.
