D. F. Pickel Dies After Short Illness
Donald Franks Pickel, 62 years old, 1508 Waalkes street, Muskegon Heights, 
died last night, in Mercy Hospital, after an illness of four days.
Mr. Pickel was born Sept. 15th, 1871, in Drumbo, Canada. He was married to 
Silvia Irwin, in Hungerford, July 9, 1896. He lived for several years in Grand 
Rapids, and came to Muskegon Heights from Mancelona, in May of 1920. He had 
been employed at the Norge Corporation for the past nine years.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Silvia Pickel, Mr. Pickel is survived by six sons, 
Plin, Russell, and Donald of Muskegon Heights, John of Hart, and James and 
Ernest of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. William Russell, of Muskegon, and Mrs. 
Earl Strait, of Hart; two brothers, John of Portland, Ore., and Charles of 
Grand Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Brocksmith and Mrs. Ruth Burns, of 
Grand Rapids; and two grandchildren.
