Mr. Jernstadt came to the United States in 1871, and went to Chicago, coming thence to Grand Haven. He went to Allegan County, where he worked on the railroad. His next move was to Grand Rapids to enter the employ of the G.R.&I.R.R. Co., where he remained but a short time. He passed a year in the service of the Flint & Pere Marquette Railroad, and then came to Woodville and established himself as at present. He founded his business at this point in 1878, and was the first to engage in the trade, in which he is obtaining satisfactory results. He was married in April, 1883, to Anna C.
