Funeral home record
Alvin F Kempf, 74 of Holton, went to be with his Lord On Tuesday morning, Nov. 
22, 2005 at his home.
Al was born on Nov. 29, 1930 in Sheridan township to Werner E and Maria 
Ellisson Kempf and graduated from Fremont High School in 1949. He married Vera 
Cregg on Sept 9, 1950 at the family home in Holton, and together they just 
celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary.Al had worked  at the Teledyne 
Continental Motors in Muskegon for 25 years until his retirement in 1995.
Al enjoyed living on the family farm where he raised draft horses, beef cattle, 
dairy cows and vrious crops throughout the years. He had been a tester for the 
Old Newaygo DHIA and  had been a bricklayer and carpenter and had built many 
homes in the area.He was a lifelong member of 4H, served as a leader of the 
Happy Hustlers 4H club for 40 years and enjoyed helping kids become involved in 
4H. Al was also a member of the Holton Evangelical Luthern Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Vera, his children,Alice, Joyce (Jack) 
Vincent, Stoney (Elise), and Matt (Lisa);10 grandchildren, 2 great grand 
children. brother, Nick, brother in law; Charles Comis; several nieces and 
nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Mary Comis, and a sister in 
law, Carol Cregg.
Funeral services Sunday Nov 27 at the HoltonEvangelical Luthern Church in 
Holton with the Rev. Paul R. Zager and Pastor James Olson presiding with 
internment in the Holton Luthern Cemetery.
