Mr. John Plakmeyer, age 94 of Grant, went to be with his Lord, Feb. 24, 2009. 
He was born in Sunfield, Eaton, MI on March 21, 1914, the son of Timothy 
Plakmeyer and Dena (Strucker)Plakmeyer. He married Grace Geers on Oct. 19, 
1939 in Grant.
She preceded him in death on July 13, 1999. He was a self-employed Vegetable 
Farmer for 50 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of Grant 
Christian Reformed Church.
He is survived by his children Wayne and Jennie Schuman of Louisville, CO, 
Kenneth and Jan Plakmeyer of Grant, Diane and Al Zoet of Sand Lake, Denise and 
Jack Vliet of Beelaire, Phil and Lauie Plakmeyer of Grant, 12 grandchildren, 7 
great-grandchildren. His sister Jeanette Honderd of Jenison.
Service will be held at Grant Christian Reformed Church, on Friday, Feb. 27, 
2009 with Pastor Lucas Rodenhouse officiating. Interment at Hillside Cemetery.
