Comfort's story to the authorities is that the child was kidnaped by its mother about 12 years ago and was placed in an Indiana orphanage, where, as a waif, he was taken by a family at Willvale. The child was legally adopted by the foster parents, who will contest Comfort's claim in the courts of the State. Comfort says two other members of his family were adopted by families in Indiana, and he is determined to reunited them all. Mrs. Comfort died soon after the estrangement with her husband.
