Contained Shooting Gallery Outfit- Tester Who Drew Wagon Disappeared. ________________ Rochester, June 21.- An unknown man lies in a critial condition at the Detroit House and another man is suffering from severe cuts at the same place as the result of an accident which occurred near the Stone school house south of this village yesterday afternoon. The parties to the accident have refused to divulge their names and as they are strangers their names and addresses cannot be learned. At 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon a tester in the employ of one of the automobile plants at Pontiac brought the two men into this village and hurried them to the home of Dr. B. C. H. Spencer. They were bleeding from severe cuts in the face and scalp and were laid out on the lawn in front of Dr. Spencer's house un- till their injuries could be dressed. One man, about 35 years old, was un- conscious. It required 50 stitches to close the gaping wounds in his head. The other was not in such bad shape but was severely cut about the face and head. The auto tester and a young man who was riding with him explained that the party left Pontiac earlier in the afternoon bound for Rochester. The testing car was drawing a cov- ered wagon in which was contained the paraphernalia for a shooting gal- lery the men were about to open here. The auto tester said he had been hired to haul the wagon over to Rochester. Near the stone school house the wag- on struck a rut in the road while traveling at a rapid rate and over- turned in the ditch throwning the two men out. The third man rode with the tester and was uninjured. The men were hurried at once to Roches- ter for medical attention and as soon as their injuries were dressed they were taken to the Detroit House. The older man was unconscious most of the night. It is feared he is suffer- ing from concussion of the brain. The utmost secrecy is being main- tained by the whole parties to (next few lines unreadable due to a break in the newspaper) indentity known and are not registered at the hotel. The tester also refused to give his name for fear he would get into trouble with the firm who employed him. It was learned this afternoon that the tester who met the men at Birm- ingham is Frank Hill, who was in the employ of the Cartercar company. One of the injured men, it is stated, is R. B. Botsford, who formerly ran a shooting gallery under the Davis block. Botsford's place was locked to- day and it is said he has not been seen here since, Saturday evening. The identity of the other injured man has not yet been learned. The accident was caused, it is stat- ed, by the breaking of the tongue of the wagon. Hill's action was strictly against the rules of the company and he has been discharged.
