If no respecter of person. List includes some who had been here many years: J.H. Drahner, well known resident of this village, died at the home of his daughter in North Oxford, of influenza followed by pneumonia. He and his wife had gone there to care for the daughter's family, when they all became ill of the disease. Mrs. Drahner and Mr. Drahner following on Feb. 16. Jacob D. Drahner was born March 16, 1852, near Schenectady, New York, and came to Michigan with his parents, the late John and Susan Drahner, in the fall of that year, settling on a farm in West Oxford. Spending his life near Oxford until last spring, he then disposed of his farm and moved to town. Mr. Drahner was married to Effie Van Wagoner Sept. 2, 1880. To them were born two children, Clyde A. who died in 1899, and Lorene E., wife of the late Albert Jewell. There are surviving the daughter, three grandsons, and one brother, Frank E. Drahner of this place. Prayer was conducted at the Whitcomb Chapel, Thursday, by Rev. Denman and the remains were placed in the Dennison vault.
