Obituaries from Clare County Review (MI) 2-23-2001 Charles Warren Garver, age 84, of Waterford and formerly of Clare, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2001 in Waterford. Charles was born the son of Walter and Hazel (Alwood) Garver on Novermber 10, 1916 in Clare. Charles married Ellen Athey on June 8, 1941 and they moved to Ann Arbor where Charles worked at Baldwin Rubber before moving to Pontiac and working at General Motors. He retired from General Motors Truck and Bus January l, 1983. Charles was an active member of the Waterford Church of Christ, loved the outdoors, gardening, his beagles and watching the World Series on television. He was the oldest son in a family of fifteen. Charles was prerceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill Garver of Clare, Wayne Garver of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Garver of Edenville, Walter Garver of Farwell; and one sister Doris Dalton of Clare. Services were held at the Riverside Chapel in Waterford on Friday, February 16, 200l with Pastor David Park of the Waterford Church of Christ officiating. Burial followed at Ottawa Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Michigan Parkinson Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.ation.
