He was a resident of Rochester Hills, Michigan. George was a graduate from Indiana State University before attending Purdue University where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During WW II, George worked for RCA developing sonar for detecting submarines. George went on to join Chrysler Corporation in the Missiles, Space & Defense Divisions. He contributed in sending men into space. He then went on to work in the tank division of General Dynamics Corporation and worked there until his retirement in June of 1982. He did return to act as a consultant in quality control, however. Survivors include 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 4 siblings, and a special friend. His wife preceded him in death. Inurnment will be at Mount Avon Cemetery in Rochester. A Memorial Service for the immediate family and close friends was held at the Royal Park Hotel. Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, Rochester handled all arrangements. The family suggests memorials to Mercy Bellbrook Physical Therapy/Skilled Nursing Floor, Rochester, Michigan.
