Former Rochester Woman Dies Mrs. JANE MAJOR, 82 rears old, a resident of Oakland County practically all her life, died Sunday in Washington, N.J. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Phoebe Major. Mrs. MAJOR had made her home with the daughter for the last two years, but prior to that time was living in Romeo. She was a resident of the section north of Rochester, for many years. Surviving are one son JESSE, of Mt Vernon, two sisters, Mrs. JOHN STAFFORD and Mrs. WILLIAM BRODIE of Romeo, besides the daughter. Funeral was held at 2: p.m. Wednesday at Mt Vernon, with burial in the cemetery at that place. The death of Mrs. MAJOR recalls a frightful tragedy at Mt. Clemens nearly 40 yrs ago, when WILLIAM MAJOR, her husband, killed his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Depew, her daughter, two years old, nearly killed his wife and son , JESSE, after which he killed himself.
