Wednesday June 8, 1938 The Pontiac Press page 14 "Mrs. Emma Major Silverthorn, of 123 Woodlawn Ave., Rochester died at a Pontiac hospital early this morning after a lengthy illness. She was born in New Jersey, December 4, 1850, and had lived in Rochester and vicinity for the past 40 years. She is survived by these daughters and sons: Mrs. Sam Morrison of Oxford, Louis of Toledo, Mrs. Mae Franklin, Mrs. Grace Taylor and Mrs. Mattie Sahlman of Rochester. There are 21 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. The funeral service will be held from the T. E. Nichols Chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon with the Rev. William H. Collycott of St. Paul's M. E. church officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery."
