He was born Oct. 11, 1923 in Berkley, Mich. He was preceded in death by his father, Otis L. Schooley; mother Julia C. Schooley;and brother Otis Daniel Schooley. He is survived by his wife Mary A. Schooley; four children, Robert W. (Kathleen) Schooley, Mary K. Schooley Holstein, Dennis G. (Sharon) Schooley; three stepchildren, Colleen (Alan) Rothenberg, Bonni (Jeff) Lopez and Audrey (Richard) Nellett; four grandchildren, Christopher Schooley, Julianne (Gary) Harp, Mariterese (Samuel) Jenkins, Dennis Schooley and Donald (Kristin) Schooley; five stepgrandchildren, Mallory House, Cassandra Brown, Lucas Brown, Megan Rothenberg and Jessica Lopez, three great-grandchildren, D'Antay Jenkins, Maggie Jenkins and Will Harp; a step grandson, Adrian House; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He attended Assumption College in Windsor, Ontario until 1944 when he left school to join the U.S. Navy in World War II. He served in the Pacific at Noumea, New Caledonia, and was discharged at San Francisco in 1946. HE worked for 35 years as a teamster in the Detroit area belonging to Teamsters Local 299. After retirement, he moved to the Las Vegas area in 1985. He enjoyed an active retirement full of church, traveling and blackjack. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle parish in Henderson. He was a member of the VFW and the Knights of Columbus. Vigil will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12. Funeral services and a Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, both at St. Peter the Apostle, 204 S Boulder Highway, Henderson. Interment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City.
