TORREY Orson D. Torrey was born in Michigan May 24, 1844; lived in Texas and taght school there. Later he cam to Kansas City where he was employed as a landscape gardener. About 1910 he came to Goodman [MO], which has been his home until the time of his death, July 30, 1934, 10 p.m. His wife and two children died some 35 years ago. Mr. Torrey engaged in fruit farming during his residence here. He was a member of the Methodist church in Goodman since the church was organized, and was known to all as most benevolent and living in complete accord with his profession. He has only two relatives living - a niece and a nephewWilliam Torrey], who live in Seattle, Wash. Mr. Torrey is a good example of scriptural fulfillment, which declares of the man who lives right: "With long life shall I satisfy him and show him my salvation".
