Henry L. Van Wagoner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Van Wagoner was born in Metamora
Township, Lapeer County, in December 1857 and died Feb. 23, 1913 after an
illness of one week with pneumonia at the old homestead where he had always
lived, near the Van Wagoner school house.  he joined the Methodist church at the
age of 18 years and had always been an earnest, faithful Christian.  He is
survived by two brothers, Philip and George.  The funeral, held Feb. 25th, at
the house was conducted by Rev. R.K. Nevina.  The remains in charge of the
Undertaker Whitcomb were interred in the Van Wagoner Cemetery.
