Oct 1825, unreadable. Revolutionary Soldier Plaque, 1756- 1825 Correction from family member on birthdate: It is actually 1751, although the stone is recorded as 1756. His wife, Mary (Gould) Smith is buried next to him; she was born 1761 and died 1825. Her stone is standing but barely readable. The Smiths came to Auburn Village (with Goodrich, Todd, Webster, and others from Auburn, NY), and were original proprietors of many homes and businesses in Avon and Pontiac Twp. He was indeed a Rev. Soldier, as well as a descendant of Lt. Samuel Smith, the "fellmonger" and wife Elizabeth, who came to Mass. in 1630, later settling in Wethersfield and Hadley.
