Additional Comments:
Enlisted in the Union Army at age 39.  He was a POW at the 2nd Bull Run, VA.  
Wounded at Gettysburg PA. - crippled his hand and suffered a shoulder wound.  
He was discharged in Detroit on 20 Aug 1864.
