Farrell, an Oceana County production, was born in Claybanks, June 29, 1856. His parents were Owen and Catherine Farrell. The subject of our sketch was born and raised upon a farm and has always followed that business. He has been elected by his fellow townsmen to the position of Superintendent of Schools two terms and Treasurer two terms. As a public officer he has always given good satisfaction to all. He takes a great interest in educational matters and has taught school winters for the past nine years. He is a good writer, many of the racy articles in the different county papers being from his pen. He is a young man of whom the people of his section are justly proud.
