He was at the time of his death 71 years, 10 months and 12 days old. When a small boy he removed to New Lisbon, Indiana, where he made his home until fourteen years ago, when he came to Lupton, where he has since resided. He served during the Spanish-American War, in 161st, Indiana Volunteer Infantry. He was a true sportsman and a great lover of all outdoor life. Since coming to Lupton he has made a host of friends who with those dear to him by the ties of nature, mourn his sudden passing. Funeral services were held from the home in Lupton, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with burial in Brookside. Mark Wilson, Federal Bank Examiner of Detroit, a nephew of Mr. Filson, came Monday and made arrangements for the funeral.
