A former resident of West Branch, he was a retired maintenance worker in the Pontiac City School system. He had been a resident there for the past 38 years. He was born in West Branch September 30, 1881 and was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Surviving are his widow, Lucille; four sons, William, Corneilous, Carl and Clayton, all of Pontiac; a daughter, Mrs. Thelma Pringle of Rochester, two brothers, Alfred of Atlanta and Leo of West Branch; three sisters, Mrs. Julia McClemns of East Detroit, Mrs. Alvina Price of Allen Park and Mrs. Ida Post of Fredrick; 18 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. The Rev. Fr. James L. Hayes officiated at the rites and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Pontiac.
