DODDS OF LOGAN TWP. PASSED AWAY SUNDAY JULY 21 HAD RESIDED IN OGEMAW FOR FIFTY YEARS AND WAS 87 YEARS OF AGE Funeral services for Robert A. Dodds, prominent Logan township farmer, were held on Tuesday afternoon of this week from the Logan Free Methodist church, with Rev. F. D. Voller, pastor, officiating. Burial took place in the Logan cemetery. He was the father of Harrison Dodds, former cashier of the State Savings Bank of West Branch, now a director and the president of the Michigan Mutual Windstorm Insurance company, at Hastings, Michigan. Mr. Dodds died Sunday, July 21, at his late farm residence on M-55 eleven and a half miles east of West Branch, after an illness of two months. He was 87 years of age. He was born in Ohio on May 11, 1859. Coming to Ogemaw county about fifty years ago from Lapeer he won a reputation for himself as a very successful farmer developing his farm in section 30 Logan township, into one of the best farms in Ogemaw county. He was very highly thought of in his community, and made a friend out of every person he came in contact with, and was justly proud of a family in which he was husband and father and gave the best education possible. Besides his wife, Mary Jane, he is survived by three sons: Archie Dodds of Logan township; Harrison Dodds of Hastings; and Elmer Dodds in Colorado; five daughters, Mrs. Katherine Monroe of Mayville; Mrs. Amy McKellar, of Pontiac; Mrs. Gladys Brown, of section 34; and Mrs. Mabel Stahlbusch, of section 18, Logan township; three brothers, Albert and Edwin Dodds, of North Branch, and Dr. H. C.
