Funeral services were held at the Steuernol Chapel in West Branch at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18 with Rev. Willard Atherton officiating. Burial took place at the Selkirk cemetery. Alba David was born at Durand, Michigan on July 21, 1893, the son of Scoffield and Hattie David, and passed away at the age of 55 on January 15, 1949. He is survived by his wife Hilda, whom he married at Prescott, Mich., in the year 1914. A farmer by occupation, he had lived in Flint, Mich., prior to moving to Ogemaw County 36 years ago. Surviving, in addition to his widow, are three sons, Dewey, of Flint, Arthur, of Prescott, and Louis, at home; three daughters, Velma Goatbe, of Prescott, Della Mae Gorden [Gerken], of Saginaw [Bridgeport], and Bernice, at home; a sister, Helen Migan, also of Prescott; and three grandchildren.
