Boyer, B. T. (Dell) Jr. Services were March 22 at Orr Funeral Home for Dell Boyer, 75, of Mio, Michigan, who died March 19, 1993 at his residence. Burial was in the Mentor Townshop Cemetery in Mio, following services officiated by the Rev. Virgil Hershberger. Mr. Boyer was born Dec 14, 1917 in Jackson (Michigan), the son of the late Birdell T. and Helen (Aiken) Boyer. He came to Mio to live in 1946 from Jackson. He had been a carpenter and owned the AuSable Realty Co. at one time. He owned and operated Boyer's Machine and Engineering Co., and has a patent on a gasifier furnace. He enjoyed fishing and had a polot's license. He was an Army veteran, serving during World War II. He had served as an Oscoda County Sheriff's Department Auxiliary. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Betty Jane (Nichols) of Mio; one son, Jerry R. and Sue of Bath, (Michigan), three daughters, Judy I. Berney and the late Reid Berney, Cindee L. Boyer and Frank D. Tschiggfrey, all of Mio, Beverly Updyke of Arizona; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was the oldest of 11 children and is survived by five brothers, Walter, John, James, Carl and Darwin; five sisters, Ruby, Hariett, Lily, Margaret and Marian; several nieces and nephews.
