Holland Sentinel
Gerrit Bronkhorst, 72, of A-6509 142nd Ave., Holland, died Saturday, April 5, 
in Holland Community Hospital following a short illness.
He had lived in the Holland area all his life. Before retiring in 1974, he 
worked for General Motors in Wyoming for 21 years.
He was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church.
He was born Feb. 13, 1914 in Holland, Ottawa, Michigan, to Gerrit Bronkhorst 
and Alice Streutker Bronkhorst. He married Clara Jane Zylstra Dec. 21,1935 in 
Zeeland, Ottawa, Michigan.
Surviving are his wife Clara; five sons, Gerrit (Jerry) Bronkhorst Jr. John, 
Roger, and Michael Bronkhorst all of Holland, and Kenneth Bronkhorst of Grand 
Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Marvin (Mary Lou) Wilson and Mrs. Eugene 
(Beverly) Smith both of Holland and Mrs. Calvin (Sandra) Reimink of Hamilton, 
Michigan. 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Lester 
(Alice) Woldring and Mrs. Maynard (Jennie) Batjes, both of Holland; and a 
sister-in-law, Mrs Albert (Alma) Bronkhorst of Holland.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dykstra Northwood Chapel with J.C. 
House and Pastor Arnold Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Gibson Cemetery, 
Holland, Allegan, Michigan.
