Holland Sentinel
Clara Jane Bronkhorst, 85, of Holland, died Monday March 5, 2001, in Holland 
Community Hospital.
Born and raised in Charlevoix, she moved to Zeeland in 1926, and has since 
resided in the area.
She was born Dec. 21 1915 in Charlevoix, Michigan, to John Kornelis Zylstra 
and Martha (Mary) Mast Zylstra. She married Gerrit Bronkhorst on Dec. 21, 1935 
in Zeeland, Ottawa, Michigan
A charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, she worked for Crampton 
Manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gerrit Sr. in 1986, a 
son, Gerrit Jr. (Jerry) in 1993, grandson, Jeremiah Wilson, in 1979; and a 
great-great- granddaughter, Amber Pickett, in 1998.
Surviving are her children, Mary Lou and Marvin Wilson of Fennville, John and 
Bobbye Bronkhorst of Pullman, Roger and Melva Bronkhorst of Holland, Kenneth 
Bronkhorst of Grand Rapids, Beverly and Eugene Smith of Holland, Michael and 
Virginia Bronkhorst of Holland, and Sandra and Calvin Reimink of Hamilton; a 
daughter in-law Betty Jean Bronkhorst of Holland; 26 grandchildren; 31 great 
grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister Alice Doctor of Royal 
Oak, MI
Services 1 p.m. Thursday at Mulder Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, with Rev. 
Frank Centers and Arnold Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Gibson 
Cemetery, Holland, Allegan, Michigan.
