Born in Hopkins, Mrs. DeWitt lived in the Holland area most of her life. She was married to the late John Bronkhorst, who died Nov. 11, 1949. In 1956 she married John DeWitt who died in 1982. Mrs. De Witt was a member of the Sixth Reformed church, a former member of the Ladies Aid Society, and she was also a member of the Holland Firemen's Ladies Auxilary. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John (Marjorie) Ten Cate of Holland; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Julia Allen of Pullman, Mrs. Donna Ritsema of Holland and Mrs. Tony (Ruth) Marcoly of La Mirada, CA; two stepsons, Vernon and Stuart DeWitt of Holland; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Albert G. Gates of Allegan; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Marion Gates of Hamilton, and Mrs Frances Wesseling of Hamilton. Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Dykstra-Nothwood Chapel with the Rev. Henry Mouw officiating. Burial will be at Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
