RUSSELL of Coopersville, died suddenly from a heart attack, Friday evening, Jan. 5th at the home of friends in Ann Arbor, where she had been for some months. She was born December 19, 1874 in Holt, Michigan. The family came to Coopersville about 21 yrs ago from Grand Ledge and bought the WEBER home on US 16 where they have since lived. Both Mr. and Mrs. Russell had spent several years in Chautauqua work. She joined the Methodist Church in 1918. She was a lover of good literature. Suriving are the husband; daughter, Mrs. Owen ANDERSON of Ann Arbor; four sons, Robert of Grand Rapids, Stewart of Lansing, Richard of Ann Arbor and Philip of the U. S. Navy, stationed with the USS Charleston in the Canal Zone; 4 granchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Arthur DOWLING of Dansville, Mrs. Harry SWITZER of Lansing and Mrs. Fred DEEG of Lansing; 2 brothers, Clarence DIEHL of Dansville and John DIEHL of Mobile, Ala. Her body laid in state at the Kammeraad Funeral Home until Monday afternoon when funeral services were held in the Methodist Church with burial in the Coopersville Cemetery.
