His death came as a great shock as he had been recovering and regaining his health since March from an operation at U. B. A. He was greatly beloved by the community where he has resided his whole life. Surviving: his wife; son, Charles W.; daughter, Nellie (Mrs. John BALCOM); 4 grandchildren; 2 brothers, T. W. GIBBBS of Gd. Rapids and J. A. GIBBS of Albion; 3 sisters, Mrs. Frank JONES, Mrs. Sam DELL and Mrs. Bass DEll, of Nunica. Mr. Gibbs was an Odd Fellow and a Maccabee. The funeral, attended by a large number of friends took place at the family residence, Sunday, July 22. Additional Comments: Joseph's sister, Mrs. Frank Jones is my ggg grandmother.
