First he lived on a arm in Spring Lake, then on a farm in this area until 1923, when he and his wife moved into town. They came from Germany in 1883. Mrs. Holst died in June 1939. Mr. Holst had had not been well for the last year or two, but he had remained active almost up to the time of his passing. He was a lover of the great outdoors and had not missed a deer hunting season for the past half century. Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Adolph BLANKENBURG and Mrs. Theodore KLATT of Coopersville, and Mrs. John KLINGER of Muskegon; 2 sons, Alfred of Coopersville and John of Fort Myers, FL; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Nunica. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon with burial in the Coopersville Cemetery.
