Jacobs, age 80, of Holland, died Friday, January 11, 2008, at the Resthaven Care Center. Jay was a member of Harlem Reformed Church and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for Kent Holland Die for over 27 years and also served as a crossing guard for the Holland Police Department. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Jacobs, in 1967, and his second wife, Marilyn Jacobs, in 2004; two sons, Jay Jr. and Henry Jacobs; daughter, Judy Jacobs, and a grandson, Curtis Jacobs. He is survived by his children, Martha Blood of Holland, Nancy and John Boersema of Holland, Roger and Cindy Jacobs of Borculo, Jeff Jacobs of Florida, Lori Jacobs of Georgia; stepdaughter and son, Pat Van Slooten of Holland, Tom Clark of California; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2008 at Harlem Reformed Church, 6854 144th Avenue in Holland. Rev. John Nyitray will be officiating. Inurnment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visiting will be Sunday 2-4 p.m. at Lakeshore Memorial Services, 11939 James Street in Holland.
