These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations. ___________________________________________________________________ SICHTERMAN My great grandfather, Si SICHTERMAN, was hit by a train on Friday, May 16, 1929 and died later that day. This information was from The "Coopersville Observer", front page dated May 17, 1929. His obituary states he was born in The Netherlands on January 6, 1860 and died on May 16, 1929 in Coopersville. He and Anna BRONSEMA were married April 24, 1883 at Coopersville. They had two daughters, Effie MEERMAN of Williamston and Anna WITCOP of Coopersville and three sons, Peter and Nicholas of Coopersville and John of Flint (my grandfather). At the age of 43, Mr. SICHTERMAN joined the Reformed Church and has always been a faithful member. He left behind his widow and five children, fifteen grandchildren and one brother, R. SICHTERMAN of this place and one sister, Mrs. Katherine BARSMA of Grand Rapids. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the Reformed Church, the pastor, Rev. J. H. BRUGGERS officiated. Interment was in the Coopersville cemetery. The article directly under it was a Card-of-Thanks. The people mentioned in it were: A. M. EASTON, John TER AVEST, Neil VAN WEELDE and Ted DeMANGD. The obituary was in the May 24, 1929 issue, page 3, obituary section. This newspaper is no longer being printed. dz
