Coopersville Observer, Oct. 24, 1930
  Geert Van Dyke, 85, died at his home near Conklin, Monday.  He was severely 
injured a week ago when he was hit by a car while he was crossing the highway 
near the Chester Twp. Hall, having fractured his arm and leg.
  He leaves his daughters, Mrs. Ben ARENDS, Mrs. Wm. ARENDS , Mrs. Nicholas 
ARENDS, Mrs. Anna SCHOENBORN, and Miss Nellie VAN DYKE, with whom he lived and 
son, Henry VAN DYKE.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday at the St. Francia Church in Chester 
with burial in the church cemetery.
