James G. Van Dyke, 79, of Allendale, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Jan. 
1, 2001. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Faith Bessey, Pearline 
Wagner; grandson, Brian Berens; daughter-in-law, Betty Van Dyke. He was a U.S. 
Army veteran of WWII. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Adelaide; children, 
Shirley and Roger Van Houten, Larry Van Dyke, Gloria and Dennis Berens, Laura 
and Lee DeWitt, Wayne and Pam Van Dyke of Spruce; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-
grandchildren; brother, Marvin and Rena Van Dyke; sisters, Grace and Jerry 
Brinks, Carol and Owen Hildahl, Muriel and Bill Griffore; brother-in-law, Carl 
Wagner; sisters-in-law, Alverna Ten Have, Juella Luther.
Services will be held Thursday at North Blendon Christian Reformed Church, 
Hudsonville, MI, with the Rev. Paul Hoekstra officiating. Burial will be at 
Allendale Township Cemetery.
