Holland Sentinel 
Mary Van Houten, 82, of Holland, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, in Holland 
Community Hospital.
Born in Charlevoix, on Dec. 24, 1915 to Seblo and Hattie (Zylstra) Vennstra. 
She had resided in Holland for more than 50 years. She had been employed by 
Cramptons, General Electric, and Acro Fab. 
She was a charter member of Calvary Reformed Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 1978, and a grandson, 
Ronald Vander Hulst, in 1981.
Surviving are her children, Jeanette Vander Hulst of Holland, Shirly and Max 
Chrispell of White Cloud, Joan and Troy Conway of Eveningshade, AK., John Van 
Houten and Robert Van Houten, both of Holland; 13 grandchildren; 15 great 
grandchildren; brothers James and Char Veenstra of Grand Rapids, Bernard and 
Hattie Veenstra of Zeeland.
Services are 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Reformed Church, with the Rev. Marvin 
Beukelman officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the American 
Cancer Society.
