Holland Sentinel
Bernard Veenstra, aged 82, of Zeeland went home to be with his Lord and Savior 
on Sunday, Jan 30, 2005. He was born to Seblo and Hattie (Zylstra) Veenstra in 
Antrim County, Michigan. Married Hattie Bolhuis Nov. 24, 1944. She was born 
June 13, 1923 in Ellsworth, Michigan. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, 
Hattie; his five children Stan and Sandy Veenstra of Clovis, California; 
Belinda and Ronald Bovenkamp of Grand Rapids; Judy and Richard Evertse of 
DeWitt; Brian and Karrin Veenstra of Holland; and Tim and Lyn Veenstra of 
Holland; ten grandchildren, Christopher (Mindy) Veenstra; Jennifer (Jeff) 
Corlew, Derek Veenstra, Kelly (Jim) Lacic, Jillian Evertse, Jordan Evertse, 
Vanessa Veenstra, Alison Veenstra, Daniela Veenstra, and Caitlinn Veenstra; 
and six great-grandchildren; his brother James Veenstra of Grand Rapids; 
sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Minnie Hoekstra, Clara VanTil, and Fred and 
Wilma Blohuis.
Bernard was an army veteran of WWII. Funeral services will be held on Thursday 
at 11:a.m. at Calvary Reformed Church, with the Rev. Blaine Newhouse 
officiating. Interment in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
