Coopersville Observer, Jan. 6, 1928
  Millard F. Walling passed away at home in Lamont on December 28, 1927.  He 
was born in Lyons, NY on December 4, 1848.  He came at the age of four with 
his parents by ox team to Steel's Landing, where he has lived most of his 
life.  He married February 16, 1876 to May Viola THORNTON of Grand Rapids.  
She died nearly 11 years ago.
  Surviving are 4 daughters: Mrs. John PARK of Coopersville; Mrs. Fred 
SACKRIDER of Parma; Mrs. Frank RANDALL and Mrs. Oscar G. HULTMAN of Grand 
Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Amy BATEMAN and a niece, Miss Orpha AUSTIN of Lamont.
  Burial was in the Maplewood Cemetery in Lamont, Saturday afternoon.
