The Coopersville Observer, Jan. 12, 1940
Winnifred Watson, was born October 20, 1860 in Spring Lake, daughter of Mr. 
and Mrs. Martin Walsh. She died Sunday morning, age 79, in Grand Haven, after 
a long illness.  She married Dudley O. Watson, of Coopersville and a political 
leader in Western Michigan, in 1880.  They lived in Coopersville for seven 
years; then moved to Grand Haven where they ran a dry goods store.  Dudley 
died in 1910.

Mrs. Watson was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Grand Haven and was a 
member of the Women's Club and had been active in the World War civilian work.

Survivors: daughter, Margaret; sister, Mrs. L. D. Mills of Coopersville.  Son, 
Melvin, age 21, died in 1908.

Funeral services were held at St. Patrick's Chuch in Grand Haven on Tuesday 
morning with burial in Lake Forest Cemetery.
