Coopersville Observer, Oct. 3, 1940
  Miss Mary Wells, 73, passed away at her home in Marne on Saturday after a 
brief illness.  She was born in Reno and had lived in the Marne area all her 
life.  She was a member of the Marne Baptist Church.  Funeral services were 
held at the home on Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the Marne Cemetery.
  Surviving are: 3 nieces, Mrs. Bessie GERMFAST of the Upper Peninsula; Mrs. 
Wm. STADT, of Grand Rapids, and Miss Lela WELLS, of CA; 3 nephews, Lester B. 
WELLS of Marne; Leon and Raymond of Chicago.
