Underneath a decorative geometric inscription at the top of the headstone is the surname "Schalk" in capital raised relief block letters. Below that is inscribed "Minnie Schalk, 1872 - 1920. Wilhelmine ("Minnie" or "Minna") Alvina (Stricker) Schalk September 12, 1872 - 1920 Additional Comments: Wilhelmine(Minnie) Stricker was married to Charles(Carl) Rudolph Otto Schalk on November 3, 1891 at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Belknap Township. She and her husband are both buried in the St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery. I am unable to find another stone for Charles and am assuming that he is buried beside his wife Minnie. (There is enough space between her stone and the adjoining stones to provide ample space for him on the plot). This will need to be verified through the St. Michael's Lutheran Church records. The dates on Minnie's stone match the dates of Wilhelmina (Stricker) Schalk. Dates for Charles(Carl) Rudolph Otto Schalk are May 04, 1868 - April 15, 1954 File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/mi/presqueisle/photos/tombstones/stmichaelsluther/schalk144566nph.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/mifiles/ File size: 2.0 Kb
