Davis Sr., beloved husband and father passed away Friday, April 23, 1999 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 73 years. He was born June 27, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Russell served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart. He also served as a sergeant in the Army National Guard. He married Betty Gothrup on June 12, 1946. She survives him. Russell was employed as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1989. He was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed traveling, snowmobiling, camping, fishing and the sunshine. Surviving besides his wife Betty are three daughters and one son; Julie Ann and Don Chutes, Harrison; Carol and John Richard, Clare; Russell David Jr. and his wife Barbara, Harrison; Christine and Thomas Armentrout, Clare; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A Committal Service will take place in Summerfield Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer society, the American Diabetes Association or Central Michigan Community Hospital.
