Age 75, years. The daughter of the late Harry and Lucille (Gaertner) De- Forest was born July 18, 1918 in Saginaw. She married Richard La- Fond, Oct. 19, 1940. He passed away in 1982. She was a member of the Disabled America Veterans, Commanders Club, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island Foundation since 1985 and the AARP. Surviving are six children and their spouses, Dennis and Wendy La- Fond, Dawn and Thomas Calla- ghan, Duane LaFond, Dale and Janette (Sue) LaFond all of Sagi- naw, Diane and Matthew Volz Burt; Debra and Daniel Beson, Saginaw, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a sister Ruby Hodges, Saginaw, several nieces and nephews. A sister and a brother, Evelyn DeForest and Willard DeForest have prede- ceased her. Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will gather for a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 1994 at the First United Methodist Church 4790 Gratiot Ave. Rev. James F. Thomas will officiate.
