Rudolf Scherf, 59
Rudolph W. Scherf, 14701 Ego, East Detroit, passed away on Feb. 25, at 
Saratoga Hospital.  His parents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudoph Scherf, Sr.

Mr. Scherf was born on Feb. 26, 1916 in Detroit and was baptized and confirmed 
in Salem's Lutheran Church.  He was president of the Federation of Luther 
Leagues in his youth and met Marie E. Loesel from Frankenmuth at Arcadia, 
Walther League camp, on Aug. 22, 1944.  Mr. Scherf, a professional 
photographer, and Marie, were married at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in 
Frankenmuth on Sept. 22, 1945, by the Rev. Martin Mayer.

Mr. Scherf had survived three previous heart attacks over a number of years.  
He leaves his widow, Marie; daughter, Mrs. Carol Marie Blue; granddaughter, 
Jenny Marie Blue; a 16-year old grandson, Leander Ray Blue; a sister, Mrs. 
Elverta Brown, brother Harold Scherf, his father-in-law William Loesel, aunts, 
uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives in Germany and a large host of 
friends.

Mr. Scherf was a member of the G.T.E.V. Edelweiss Club.  Its president, 
Berthod Leidecker, conducting a memorial service last week.  Mr. Scherf also 
was a member of the Southeastern Michigan II Meter Radio Club.  He was a 
member of St. Peter's Ev. Lutheran Church in East Detroit where funeral 
services were held with the Rev. William Otten officiating.  Burial was 
Saturday in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
