The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgenwebarchives.org *********************************************************************** From Saginaw Daily Courier 26 Feb, 1874 Obituary Notice of the late Mrs. Sophia Seyffardt, of Saginaw City Died, in Saginaw City, of heart disease, on the 24th inst., Mrs. Sophia Seyffardt, relict of the late William Seyffardt of Saginaw City. The remains of the late lady will be interred today with services at the house. The deceased came to the Valley from the Ducy of Baden, Germany, in the year 1852, and was shortly after married to Mr. William Seyffardt at that time a farmer on the Tittabawassee river. In the year 1862 they removed to Saginaw City and established a hardware store on Water street where, for ten years, he carried on a successful business. About two years ago Mr. Seyffardt died, leaving his widow and seven children—five girls and two boys—amply provided for. On Tuesday afternoon last Mrs. Syeffardt paid a visit to the house of Herman Rease where she was sudeently taken sick and in 20 minutes was a corpse. Drs. Plessner and Krouse were immediately called but upon arriving, found that the vital spark had fled. The deceased was 45 years of age and leaves a large cirlce of sympathizing friends.
