Seyffardt was Controller, Business Man William Seyffardt, 82, native of Saginaw County, former city police commissioner and controller and for many years engaged in business here, died Sunday at Saginaw General hospital. Born Nov. 3, 1856, in Freeland, he came to Saginaw with his parents in 1860. As a boy he learned the hardware business from his father, and as a youth entered the business as a partner of George Walz, sr. In the lage eighties he became associated with Saginaw Hardware company, and in 1900 helped form Wood Fibre Products company. For many years he was secretary-treasurer of Feige Desk company. In 1915 he helped organize American Cash Register company, of which he was secretary-treasurer until 1929, when he retired from business. From 1901 until 1905 he served on the city board of police commissioners, resigning to become city controller, a post he held until July, 1911, when he was succeded by the late George C. Warren. Since 1929 he had lived in Iosco county, developing summer resort property there. He was a member of the Masonic lodge, chapter and commandery and of Elf Khurafeh shrine. He married Lizette Heun in Saginaw, and after her death, married Anna Roeser, who died several years ago. He leaves to wsisters, Mrs. Mathilda Gruner and Miss Bertha Seyffardt of St. Louis, Mo. The funeral will take place at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Case chapel under Knights Templar auspices. Rev. Emil Montanus will officate. Burial
