Their children include: Elizabeth, Helen, Arthur, Jane, David, Margaret, and James. The Ross family was one of the first ten families settling in Taymouth Township. They purchased the land known locally as the "old Indian fields". David Ross was always active in the community serving many years as Township Supervisor, was the first Postmaster operating the post office out of his home, founder of the Taymouth Township Fair, and helped procure land for a Presbyterian Church in Taymouth.
