Their first child was born there, they then immigrated to the US in June of 1881. They settled in Cleveland, Ohio, where three more children were born before they removed to Taymouth Township, Saginaw County, Michigan. Their sons: Ferdinand "Vern" Schulke 1880 - 1956 and George 1882 - 1955 and John Emil 1889 - 1908 none of the sons married or had any children. They are all buried on the same plot with their parents, but there are no individual stones for them (except Emil).
