Bismack, 73, of Zilwaukee, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009 at his home. The son of the late Robert and Minnie (O’Parka) Bismack, Bob was born May 10, 1936 in Minden City. He served in the U.S. Army and the Merchant Marines. Bob married Diana Metiva, his loving wife of 41 years, on April 20, 1968. She survives him. He was employed at General Motors as a pipe fitter for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1993. Bob was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and listening to polka music. Surviving besides his wife, Diana, are two sons, one daughter and their spouses, Jim and Sue Bismack of Freeland, Michael and Chanda Bismack of Saginaw, Cheryl Bismack of Bay City; two grandchildren, William and Nicholas Bismack; one brother, Ted and Dorothy Bismack of Anderson, S. C.; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jamie Bismack, and by another brother, LaVerne Bismack. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at St. Matthew Catholic Church. The Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty) in Saginaw, where the family will be present on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. and at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Vigil service, led by Sister Janet Pewoski, SSJ, will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
