Mrs. John Blatt, Sr., for nearly 60 years a resident of this community, passed away at her home in Flynn township, on Friday, April 22, 1921. Rosana Waber was born in Switzerland 81 years ago. When a small girl she came with her parents to Port Burwell, Ont., where she grew to womanhood and was married to John Blatt nearly sixty years ago. A few years after their marriage they located in Elk township, near Peck, and lived here continuously until her death of her husband almost nine years ago, since which she has lived with her daughter, Mrs. James McDermott, at whose home she passed away. The deceased lady was a member of the Prysbeterian church. Being of kindly disposition, many acts of charity to the pioneer and others with whom she came in contact are generously remembered. She was the mother of six children, three sons and three daughters, all of whom survive her as follows; John, of Elk, Christopher, of Flynn, Samuel, of Peck; Mrs. John Murray and Mrs. John Hayward, of Elk, and Mrs. James McDermott, of Flynn. The funeral was held Monday from the Omard M.E. church, Rev. Hart, of Bladwin officiating and interment was made alongside her husband in Omard cemetery. dz
