Eugene Roman Lemke, 64, of Ubly passed away Monday, March 31, 2003, 
unexpectedly at his home.

Eugene was born Nov. 6, 1938, in Hamtramck to Ervin and Irene (Zurek) Lemke.

He married Carol Ann Rumptz on Feb. 24, 1962, at St. John Catholic Church of 
Ubly.

Eugene attended the Ubly School. He was a self-employed mechanic welder and 
auto body repairman. He worked at Cove Sanitation for a few years. He was a 
member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church of Sheridan Corners for 40 years. He 
was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed camping, 
fishing, cards, visiting the casinos, vacationing in various states, and 
visiting with his family and friends.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Carol A. Lemke of Ubly; four sons, Alger Lemke 
and his wife, Kimberly, of Ubly, Gregory Lemke of Ubly, Jeffrey Lemke and his 
wife, Lisa, of Ubly, Paul Lemke and his wife, Mariann, of Ubly; six 
grandchildren, Shelby, Logan, and Ethan Lemke, Brandon, Briana, and Ashton 
Lemke; two step-grandchildren, Rebecca and Jeremy Roggenbuck; parents, Ervin 
and Irene Lemke of Ubly; parents-in-law, Archie and Blanche Rumptz of Ubly; one 
brother, Albert Lemke and his wife, Doris, of Ubly; one brother-in-law, Gary 
Rumptz and his wife, Kathy, of Ubly; eight nieces and nephews.

Eugene was preceded in death by one infant sister and two infant brothers.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2003, at St. John the 
Evangelist Catholic Church of Ubly. The Rev. T. J. Fleming, pastor, will 
officiate. Burial will be in St. John the Evangelist cemetery of Ubly.

There will be a parish vigil service at 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9:30 p.m. tonight and from 8 to 9 a.m. on Thursday 
at Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home of Ubly.
